"Congratulations," Tergin said as he handed Ensign Grissom a box with a single hollow pip in it. "Good work in saving as many lives as you did. That type of work will take you far in the Cocoon Fleet. That is why you are being promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade and assigned as Chief Security Officer to the USS COCHRANE."
"Thank you sir," Gus said as he took the pip and fixed it to his collar.
"The COCHRANE is due to leave spacedock in a few days. Take a shuttle or long range transporter aboard and report to your new CO, Captain Canon."
"Aye sir." Gus said. It was all so overwhelming.
"Congratulations Lt.<jg> Grissom," the Fleet Admiral said as he smiled and dismissed the new junior Lt.
