    The admiral's assistants had sent in the next meeting of the day.

    "Hello Commander," Tergin said, motioning to the couch after shaking the human man's hand and sipping his green tea. 

    "It's nice to see you in person Sir," Daniel said.

    "Indeed. It seems like for a few weeks there all I was getting was casualty reports.  I want to personally thank you for what you did back on the border.  Some might say that type of service deserves a promotion..."

    "Or warrants a change of career," Stuart said. "I'm assuming you got my transfer request."

    "I did.  I'm in dire need of Command officers Daniel. Command officers I can trust," the Admiral put a strange emphasis on the last word that made the Starfleet Commander had never heard the Fleet Admiral use.  Daniel felt his hopes dashing.  "However, I completely understand.  I'm also in need of good officers, and if this is one way to keep you in Starfleet and not lose you to retirement then I'll make it happen."

    A slight smile crept across Daniel's face.  "Thank you sir."

    "I can do you one better as well.  You are assigned to the USS COCHRANE under command of... Captain Canon."

    "Captain Pol Canon? I thought he retired," Daniel said surprised, he'd just been thinking of the man.

    "The very same.  He just returned to the Cocoon earlier this week," Tergin said with a smile.  "So how does that suit you DOCTOR?"

    "Very well sir.  Thank you."

    "One last question before I release you to go report to your new yet not new CO," the El-Aurian smiled.   "Do you plan to keep up with your Command certifications as CMO?  Are you interested in being included in the COCHRANE's chain of command?  As a O-5 you will most likely fall after the Second Officer in the chain of command... you don't have to give me your decision now, unless you know..."
